Educational Program

The Learning Center is an integral part of the Mission Christian Discipleship residency programs. Learning is the singular goal of the center. Mentoring, teaching and advising are the most common methods we use to get the message across to our clients that learning is a lifelong process and must never stop.

Adults are generally motivated to learn only to the extent that the learning will help them overcome some barrier. We help our clients identify barriers by performing a series of manual and technology-based assessments of their present state.

Once this is known, our Learning Center Instructor, along with the rest of the Mission staff, encourages our clients to set goals, and to set a vision of the future of what they want to be, do and have. With a starting point and a destination, a road map or curriculum is tailored for each individual that identifies the barriers and sets in motion a process for learning to take place. To accomplish their goals, we assist our clients in the following areas:
