A Privately Supported 501(c)(3)
The Rescue Mission is supported through the generosity of individuals, families, foundations, businesses and institutions who recognize the value of the work done.
The Mission steadfastly refuses to accept money from any entity that would require it to cloud or deny its Christ-centered core values. This tenet enables it to be focused and flexible in real-time response to changing community needs. All services are provided free-of-charge to the homeless and working poor in the community.
The Rescue Mission is highly respected. It has received national recognition for the quality of its programs, and its stewardship of resources. It serves as a model for other shelters across the country that seek new and innovative ways to help people. Donations from individuals, businesses and organizations are always welcome at The Mission’s Distribution Center at 2246 Glenwood Avenue from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and any time, any day at the Residence Center at 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. We meet accountability standardsThe Mission is a top-rated member of the Evangelical Council on Financial
Accountability (ECFA). We have been evaluated in relation to the 20 Better
Business Bureau Standards for Charitable Accountability and meets all those
Standards. Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley has a 4 Star rating from
