No government or United Way funding

The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley is owned and fully supported by the community it serves. That is, we do not receive monetary support from any government entity or The United Way. We depend entirely upon the generosity of individuals, businesses and churches and their affiliated foundations for our support.

Special Food Needs USDA Group 3 - Fruits and Group 5 - Meat

Year in and year out the pressing need is for USDA Group 3 - Fruit items, such as canned fruits, juices of all kinds, Jell-o and Group 5 - Meat and protein items, such as peanut butter, canned meats, stews, and canned meat based dishes.

Donations from individuals, businesses and organizations are always welcome at The Mission’s Distribution Center at 2246 Glenwood Avenue from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and any time, any day at the Residence Center at 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Why We Don't Accept Government Funds

The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley is not affiliated with any religious denomination or sect. We are Bible-based and will not deny or obfuscate this value system for the sake of politics or money. As a result we neither seek nor accept funding from any source that would prevent us from living and sharing our core values. However, we do not withhold any good or service from people who do not share those values. It is because of what we believe and live by that we are truly non-discriminatory in our programs.
