Material Contributions In-kind

Seeing to the needs of our residents and the public is a God-sized task. Providing food alone is a real-time, everyday process as we strive to keep the trays and baskets balanced and full.

To that end we follow the USDA Food Pyramid guidelines in preparing our meals at the Residence Center, and as we fill baskets of balanced meal equivalents to hand out at the Distribution Center.  Listed are some suggestions for each category - they are not all inclusive.


USDA Group 1 - Grains:

Barley, Bread, Bread Mixes, Cereal, Cornmeal, Crackers, Flour, Grits, Hamburger Helper, Macaroni, Muffin Mixes, Noodles, Oatmeal, Popcorn, Potato Dinners, Rice, Rice Dinners, Spaghetti, Taco Shells, Tortillas, Tuna Helper

USDA Group 2 - Vegetables:

Asparagus, Beets, Black Beans, Carrots, Cremed Corn, Garbanzo Beans, Green Beans, Greens, Kidney Beans, Lima Beans, Mushrooms, Navy Beans, Peas, Pinto Beans, Pumpkin, Spaghetti Sauce, Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Tomato Juice, Tomato Paste, Tomato Sauce, Wax Beans, White Potatoes, Whole Kernel Corn, Whole Tomatoes

USDA Group 3 - Fruits:
